Another great Christmas tradition - the pantomime! For the forrin and/or uninitiated, this is a 'comedy' play in which women dressed as men romance women dressed as women whilst men dressed as unattractive old women pretend to be their ugly sisters, nurses or cleaning ladies, getting into a variety of slapsticky 'japes' with men dressed as young boys. All with extra helpings of pantomime animals (in this case, a cow - although techinically I think it's a bull because it has horns), double entendres aplenty and a plethora of recent pop hits and/or old musical hall songs shoehorned clumsily into the 'story', which are danced to by a bunch of precocious 7 year olds from whichever local dance school had a teacher wily enough to bribe the theatre management in the summer.
